Week 8

After two months of fatigue, you are finally coming out of your fog. You get enough sleep (hopefully) and get used to caring for a newborn. As you get used to the routine with your child, the feeling of clutter should go away and you will start to feel like yourself again!

Now that you've probably gotten used to diapers, dressing, and feeding, it's time to get to know your baby. Their personality may now be revealed. Find out what makes them smile and what makes them cry. Learn to understand when he is ready to eat, and when he is irritable and just wants to take a nap. Finally, dive into all the children's books you've been wanting to finish for a long time.

Try to take some time to remember what it's like to be yourself. Ask a trusted family member or babysitter to look after your child. Get out of the house for a few hours, even if it's just to get a pedicure or watch a movie.

Well dressed child

Babies weren't supposed to be on the best-dressed list. Forget fashion. Children's clothing should be functional.

The best children's clothing is:

  •  Comfortable. Tight clothing constricts small limbs, and you can forget about trying to pull in and out of a writhing baby.
  •  Seasonal. In hot weather, dress your child in lightweight, breathable fabrics, such as cotton, that won't make them overheat. In cold weather, choose thicker fabrics or layered clothing.
  •  Practical. Expensive designer clothes will be useless after being spat on, peed on, and spilled enough times to make babies so quickly. Never dress your child in anything you don't want to see spoiled.
  •  Easy. Before you buy a trendy outfit covered with buttons and zippers, remember that you are the one who has to button each button and close each zip.

Tips of the week 8

  • It's time to leave the house. Walk with your baby in a stroller or join a group of moms to chat. Walking will also help your body return to its previous healthy state!
  • Always have a safe playpen handy to keep your child safe while you cook or do anything else that takes your attention away from him.
  • Your dog may be your best friend, but your child may make unexpected moves that scare your pet. Never leave your baby alone, even with the cutest pet.
  • Do you feel like a broken record? Don't feel stupid singing the same lullaby over and over again. Children love repetition.
  • During these first few months, you create a bond with your baby that will last a lifetime. Spend skin-to-skin time while breastfeeding, reading, or singing to them.
  • If your baby is not used to a sleep and feeding schedule, push him to a schedule that matches yours. Feed your baby before bed at night so that he falls asleep before the next feeding.
  • What is hanging? Nothing should be. Cut off any loose laces or ribbons that hang from mobile phones, crib bumpers, or windows before they can injure or suffocate your baby.
