Baby's 1-Month Checkup
The last month has probably been filled with ups and downs. Your life
has changed dramatically and you probably don't know what to do sometimes. This
is completely normal. know it will get better. Your pediatrician can help with
any concerns you may have, so don't be afraid to ask questions!
Here's what to expect during your 1 month old baby's checkup.
You can expect your child's doctor to:
- Make sure the baby's umbilical cord stump has fallen off and the baby's navel is healing properly.
- Examine your boy's penis if it has been circumcised.
- Get your child vaccinated against hepatitis B.
- Check your baby's weight and height and get information about the feeding schedule

Tips for eye and skin problems
- The tear ducts in babies are sometimes blocked, but in most children this grows out.
- Massaging the area where the inner corner of the eye meets the nose with a warm cloth may help.
- Don't worry if your child develops pimples or flaky scalp.
- Problems with pimples and scalp flaking usually go away on their own within a few months.
- Washing your baby's scalp regularly with a mild baby shampoo and combing the scales with a soft brush can help with flaky scalp.
- Babies under 3 months old tend to squint their eyes, open one eye and not the other, or look in two different directions. This is normal in the first 3 months of life.
- Talk to your pediatrician if you are concerned about any of these conditions.

Weight gain tips
- Newborns usually take about 140-200 grams per week for the first 1-2 months.
- Your baby may grow 1-2 cm in the first month.

- Feed your baby when he is hungry, or at least every 3-4 hours.
Are you and your child starting to get salon fever? If the weather is
good, take your child outside for a walk. If you are visiting, just ask people
